Smoothie Bowls

I am constantly asked how I make smoothie bowls.. They’re easy, quick, simple and can be pretty, but it also took me awhile to figure out how people were making these beautiful creations at first. I like having the smoothie consistency along with chunks of fruits/veggies/nuts which is different from what you’d get in a standard smoothie obviously.. So it’s nice to change it up if you have a smoothie for breakfast everyday.

I like putting Purely Inspired protein powder or meal replacement in my smoothie mixture because it gives me the energy boost I need in a meal!

The smoothie bowl base is made with whichever fruit you want to use but with less water/milk you’d use in a standard smoothie so that it’s a little more thick/chunky. Then top with whatever you want! Super simple right?!

My favorite is a base of 3 super ripe bananas and meal replacement powder with almond milk! I like mine thick so my fruits can sit on top without sinking in 😉 These are by far my favorite breakfasts.. Try one for yourself and let me know if you do a delicious mixture I need to know about ❥

Superfood Fruit Strips

Hey y’all.. It’s been a long week. It was going really well in the beginning until I came down with food poisoning. From what? No clue. But like those commercials say, parents don’t get sick days. So I’ve been trying to soldier through these miserable past few days and have found one thing that’s been helping a ton – My Purely Inspired Organic Greens Superfood Mix.

Screen Shot 2018-01-30 at 2.31.52 PM.png

I haven’t had much of a desire to eat at all. It all comes back up anyways! But when I do feel a slight pang of hunger I want it to be nutritional so I’ve been making quite a few smoothies with my Multivitamin mix and they’ve been a life saver. But I’ve been really needing something with a little more texture so decided to make fruit strips!! They’re incredible and are exactly what I need – They aren’t heavy enough to upset my stomach but still give me a little bit of solids in there AND I add the Organic Greens to my mixture so that they’re PACKED full of vitamins and nutrients!

They’re perfect for sick days but also for whenever – Especially for the kiddos! Love that I decided to make these cuz they’ll now be a household snack all year round! They weren’t difficult to make at all (If you’ve got a dehydrator 😛 ) Try it for yourself! ↓ ↓

Superfood Fruit Strips

  1. Set dehydrator to 158°F – I spray my fruit tray with coconut oil non-stick spray just incase.
  2. I like to use whichever fruit is going bad soonest, the riper they are the sweeter they are, but my favorite mix is banana and strawberries.
  3. Blend your fruit with a splash of water and a scoop of your Organic Greens mix (You need the mixture to be thick!)
  4. Now pour your mixture into your trays (The more mixture added to each tray the thicker the strips, we like them either way!)
  5. Let them dehydrate for 10 hours! It’s a long time but it makes a TON and it’s worth it! I usually do mine overnight so they can sit for a few hours in the dehydrator afterward to finish hardening 🙂
  6. Enjoy!

These are healthier alternatives to fruit strips with an added bonus of superfoods and multivitamins! They’ve already done wonders helping my stomach settle – And the kids love them too!

(I am compensated by Purely Inspired with products as an ambassador. However, I did this recipe on my own for the reasons stated above and LOVE it. All opinions/recipes are my own.)

Simplykaraliz’ Chia Seed Pudding

I’ve always wanted to make Chia Seed Pudding but never had the patience to wait for it to set overnight! But I recently had some wonderful inspiration from Just BE Kitchen and their delicious pudding →

So I was inspired to create a delicious version of my own for my family! Instead of cacao powder I added my favorite chocolate protein from Purely Inspired!

Chia Seed Pudding

I love this recipe because it’s really versatile. You can eat it for breakfast, as a side with any meal or for dessert! And it’s so sweet the kids LOVE it! It’s also really easy to change up (Vanilla instead of chocolate), can add peanut butter/nut butter, add chocolate chips or just anything you can possibly imagine!

I added a little coconut cream in the middle to give it a little more depth 😉 SO GOOD!

I like to add fruit into a glass then scoop my pudding in – Then top with anything yummy I have in my fridge or pantry 😉

Enjoy!

Paleo Scramble with Peanut Sauce

Although not paleo (Because it is a legume) I cannot resist peanut butter sometimes.. Especially Purely Inspired powdered peanut butter! It’s so versatile because I can throw it in many (or almost all 😉 ) my smoothies, add to it soups, or use it in any recipe I want!

We very badly need to go grocery shopping, all we had was spicy breakfast sausage and eggs today and I was REALLY craving peanut butter. So I almost just made a protein shake but I had an idea to use the peanut butter in a different way. In a sauce to pour OVER a scramble (Which I knew my Husband loved so I could make that in a huge batch and put peanut butter on mine!).

IMG_20170714_114238_699.jpg

So I grabbed the full pound of sausage, a dozen eggs and my powdered peanut butter. I cooked my sausage and eggs like normal – In separate pans then combine once each are fully cooked!

While they were cooking I began to create my sauce. I wasn’t sure how I wanted it to taste so I just began to wing it! I added 2/3 cup of the Powdered Peanut Butter, then added around 1 tablespoon of Coconut Aminos (A healthier alternative to soy sauce) then salt and pepper to taste. It was a delicious salty, nutty and thaifoodtasting sauce! After all was combined into a bowl for myself I drizzled the sauce on top and VOILA! It was DELICIOUS. Even Hudson loved it.

I got so bored of the same ol’ scramble so this is the perfect recipe for whenever I want something a little different! Cheap. Easy. Delicious. Healthy eating is doable!

Purely Inspired No-Bake Chocolate Protein Bites

Although we’re mostly paleo, we definitely have our little treats here and there – Some are still healthy! This time.. We’re doing Chocolate Protein Bites! Lately I’ve been really, really sluggish, exhausted, foggy brained, etc. and needed to create SOMETHING to help me!

So I’ve been skipping coffee in the mornings and having a multivitamin Purely Inspired Organic Greens smoothie instead to try and get as many vitamins and minerals in me as I can and it’s definitely already made a difference. And although Oats aren’t paleo they are beneficial as they absorb slowly in the body, giving you a longer boost of energy so I decided to start making some protein bites to assist in getting my energy levels back up!

IMG_20170622_095123_324.jpg

They’re perfect as each batch makes around 12 (Depending on how large you make them!) – So they last for a few days, the kids love them for snacks, they’re perfect for on-the-go and for a MUCH needed energy pick-up.

I’m gonna share this recipe with you as it’s made a huge difference lately and they’re really, REALLY good.. And it’s perfect for the summertime as no-bake is great since it’s already SO hot outside!

Chocolate No-Bake Protein Bites

After combining in a bowl, place in fridge for around 30 minutes. Then form into balls and enjoy! They last around 5 days in the fridge! Easy peasy!

Will be doing this recipe LIVE on Purely Inspired’s FB page tomorrow at 12PM MST! Check it out! I’ll also post on here when I’m done!

Baby, It’s Cold Outside ❅

It is pretty darn cold in Colorado right now. Snow is FINALLY starting to fall slightly and it’s 38* outside.. That would explain my last minute cold. YAY! Right before a flight alone with my Hudson to visit family in Texas, too. Bleh.

Anyways, I still have to clean (I cannot STAND coming home from a vacation to a dirty house), pack, etc. Which is tough with a needy boy (I eat it up still.. Love when Mommy is the best thing ever) while being sick. BUT what has been helping is a scoop of Superfood Mix into water.. It’s got so many vitamins and nutrients in it that it’s been stopping my cold from getting any worse thank goodness!

I used to be OBSESSED, literally EVERYDAY just to prevent from even getting a tickle in my throat, with Emergen-C. The taste was amazing and it really helped. But realized it had added gunk in it that is neither paleo NOR healthy. So this superfood mix has been a godsend. Thank you!!
